Carl Swafford Teaching 1980's: Oh Deer!

Project Wild's Oh Deer was the educational serve of the day back in 1987. Note the twelve-ish Chris listening on, today my students would a-test to my teaching the same activity but just a little louder.

Thanks, Ben Roy for the vintage footage.

Snipped!

View from my bed as the doctor snipped my pipes.
Check out the pipes! Dr. Caldwell laid me out and snipped me.
They looked like little bits of pasta.
I have my ice pack and remote. More to come later...

Live Your Dreams, You Can!

Chris & James Hopper

Dream big, set small goals, and go anywhere! Listening to James talk tonight inspired me to continue fallowing the desire in my heart. Matt, Ben, and Corbin I'm ready for another epic.
James and Rob were the youngest British climbers to ever summit Everest in 2006. They then set out on an expedition to travel from pole to pole using manpower only. They did it, all 22,000 miles of the journey. Check out the links above to learn more about their experience.
Outdoor Chattanooga and others sponsored James's presentation for some 200+ guest packing the Chattanooga Aquarium. The event continues to make me proud of your town and what a few people can do.
Equally inspirational was catching up with folks like Eric! I meet Eric while skipping high school; he was out climbing too. We never climbed together much however we continue to cross passed paths. Each time we catch up on little things each of us has done. His list of accomplishments have taken him hiking the length Appalachian Trail (multiple time), The Pacific Crest Trail, and on around the world biking and hiking.
Normal, average, people doing extra ordinary things. Awesome things happen when people set their minds to a task. I believe greater things are accomplished as God blesses and gives value to task.
